Undergraduate Admissions Feedback

What feedback is available?

Please note that St John’s does not provide feedback to those who secured an offer from St John’s or any other College.

St John’s provides only quantitative feedback in the form of individual and average scores. We do not provide qualitative feedback, e.g. comments on your performance or advice on reapplications.

Admissions Test Scores

Admissions tests refer to the tests some courses set as part of the admissions process. A list of tests can be found here.

All test scores will be communicated directly to candidates by the test provider. St John’s is not able to provide these scores.

Written Work Scores

Written work refers to essays specifically requested as part of the application process for courses listed here. It does not refer to the personal statement you provided in your application.

Written work is not always given a specific mark, and is instead considered holistically with the other parts of your application. In these cases, we will not be able to provide a mark.

Where possible, we will provide your average written work score, the average score for those who were shortlisted for your course across the University, and the average score for those who received places for your course across the University.

Interview Scores

If you were shortlisted, we will provide your average interview score across all interviews taken at St John’s and any other Colleges. We will also provide the average score for those who were shortlisted for your course across the University, and the average score for those who received places for your course across the University.

Subject Reports

A number of departments/faculties publish admissions report on their websites, so we would encourage you to check the website of the relevant department directly to see if they have made their admissions report public.

When can I ask for feedback?

You can ask for feedback between 08:00 (UK time) on 14 January and 18:00 (UK time) on 15 February.

We will aim to respond to these requests within 20 working days of the expiry of the deadline on 15 February. We politely request that you do not chase for a response.

How do I ask for feedback?

Feedback can only be requested using our feedback request webform, which you can access here during the times above.

Confidentiality Guarantee

In order to protect your data, we will only accept requests for feedback via the above webform. Details provided such as name, UCAS number and email address must match your UCAS application before feedback will be issued. Feedback will be provided to the email address listed in the request for feedback if all these details match the application. Feedback will not be sent to any third party such as a school, a parent, or a referee.
