Refundable registration fee:

Once a nursery place is confirmed we ask that parents pay a refundable deposit of £200 to secure the place which in returned through a deduction from the first month’s fees.

How we calculate our fees

Fees are calculated weekly, multiplied by the 48 weeks that the nursery operates, then divided by 12 months to create 12 equal monthly payments.

Costs

The nursery has 2 fee bands.

Band 1:

Band 1 for parents of children currently studying, teaching, or working at St John’s College.

Due to the high demand for places, Bainton Road Nursery no longer accepts applications from community families.

The fees include all meals, snacks, extra-curricular activities such as yoga and forest school, and wipes.

The nursery can provide and launder cloth nappies at no additional cost, or parents may choose to provide disposable nappies for use at the nursery. Parents are asked to supply nappy and sun cream.

Additional charges

  • Extra daily session subject to availability £75.00
  • Optional extra-curricular music for £2.85 per session, which takes place twice monthly.

Funded places

The nursery participates in the early education funding scheme, which allows parents to access 15 hours of free childcare each week, which equates to 570 hours per year and 30 hours of free childcare which equates to1140 hours per year.

The Local Authority grant funding for the academic year of 38 weeks which is stretched across the 48 weeks that the nursery is open.

The early years funding entitlement is applied to the monthly invoice prior to being sent out.

The nursery accepts

15-hour Universal funding for all children aged 3-4 years of age.

15-hours 2-year-old funding for eligible families

30-hours working families funding for children from the age of 9 months, until the term in which their third birthday falls.

Both St John’s College and Oxford University families can access the 15 hours of universal funding at Bainton Road. However, only St John’s College parents are eligible to use their additional 15 hours of working families’ funding, which is subsidised by the College. Oxford University families may use their additional 15 hours at an alternative setting or childcare provider.

Our funding offer

30-hour funding (which equates to 23hrs 45minutes per week stretched over 48 weeks) is applied over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays due to bank holidays falling on a Monday and Inset days falling on a Friday.

The funding is applied in 2 full day slots of 9 hours and one part day of 5hrs 45minutes (the remaining funded hours) with an option to either pay for the remaining 3hrs 15minutes chargeable hours/minutes, to make up to a full day, or collect their child at 2.15pm.

15-hour funding (which equates to 11hrs 52minutes hours per week stretched over 48 weeks) is applied in 1 full day slot of 9 hours and one part day of 2hr 52minutes (the remaining funded balance) with an option to pay for the remaining 6hrs 8minutes chargeable hours/minutes, to make this up to a full day, or collect their child at 11.30am.

For parents accessing a funded only place, these sessions are offered over the same days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) with children being collected at the stated times and would be subject to the current occupancy and availability within the nursery.

Oxford University families can then used their additional 15 hours of funding at an alternative childcare setting or provider.
